Skinny jeans


Slim-fit pants or skinny jeans. They are called skinny because they are like a second skin, and they are very tight. In some styles, zippers are needed at the bottom of the leg to facilitate pulling them over the feet.

Overall


An overall is a type of clothing which is usually used to protect the clothes when you're working. Some people call an overall a "pair of overalls" by analogy with "pair of trousers".

Low-rise jeans


Low-rise jeans, worn by both men and women, are jeans intended to sit low on, or below, the hips. They are also called lowcut jeans, hipsters, hip-huggers and lowriders. Usually they sit at least 8 centimetres. They gained popularity in the 1990s and 2000s.

Short jeans


Shorts jeans, occasionally called "jorts",are a type of jeans worn by women or men that covers the pelvic area, the buttocks, and the legs, stopping between the top of the thigh and the knee. They are simply shorts made from denim.

Carpenter Jeans


Carpenter jeans are jeans with many pockets and loops which can be used to carry objects such as tools.Construction workers and carpenters wear this type of jeans.

The most famous brand of jeans is Levi's. But there are other manufacturers are classic denim, Lee and Wrangler, Furor in Mexico and Lois in Spain. All these brands were popular in the '70s. Actually there are many brands specialized in jeans and the most exclusive brands are expensive jeans such as Diesel, Yves Saint-Laurent, 7 For All Mankind and G-Star Raw. Culture&History



Originally, jeans, were used for their resistance, by manual workers, especially in heavy works as miners, or farmers in the early twentieth century. In the United States, in the 50s, young people and teenagers began to wear jeans to protest against conformity. The fact was considered a provocation, for example in some cinemas the people who wore jeans weren't allowed to enter. In the 60s, the jeans won acceptance and in the 70s became an article to dress informally.

Fashions have been imposing various cuts of pants with higher or lower waist , with tight legs(in Spain called for "pitillos", Argentina became known as Chupin, Venezuela tube were called in Mexico is named as "entubado" ), straight or flared (or elephant foot), the broken jeans...

Description


Jeans are trousers made from denim. Mainly designed for work, they became popular among teenagers starting in the 1950s. Historic brands include Levi's, Lee and Wrangler.

Jeans are now a very popular form of casual dress around the world, and have been so for decades. They come in many styles and colors; however, "blue jeans" are particularly identified with American culture, especially the American Old West. The American population spent more than $14 billion on jeans in 2004.
